About This Role

Maverick Air Conditioning is looking for an experienced HVAC Installation Technician to join our growing install crew. You'll be responsible for installing residential and commercial heating and cooling systems across St. George and Southern Utah — from new construction rough-ins to full system changeouts.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in clean, code-compliant work and wants to be part of a team that does things right the first time.

What You'll Do

  • Install residential and commercial HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductwork
  • Perform new construction rough-in and trim-out installations
  • Run refrigerant lines, condensate drains, and electrical connections per code
  • Install and connect thermostats, control boards, and zone systems
  • Work with sheet metal ductwork — measure, cut, and fabricate as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and installation manuals
  • Ensure all work meets local building codes and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ years of HVAC installation experience (residential or commercial)
  • EPA 608 certification (Universal preferred, or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
  • Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, airflow, and electrical fundamentals
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Experience with sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor conditions
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a crew

Nice to Have

  • NATE certification
  • Experience with mini-split / ductless systems
  • Low-voltage wiring and controls experience
  • Familiarity with Carrier, Lennox, Trane, or Goodman equipment

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, work on rooftops, and operate in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces. You'll be working in Southern Utah's climate, which includes extreme heat during summer months. Proper safety gear and hydration breaks are always provided.
